First painting class of the year, Noosa Queensland, Australia

The first class of the year is always exciting meeting new faces and welcoming back familiar faces.
Our new class
Our class is pretty small with only 6, room for one or two more. Our two newcomers shared their love of painting and creativity as well as their desire to gain confidence and new skills. To start the year I did a questionaire to determine what everyone wanted out of the class and it was good that everyone was keen to  improve their skills to paint coastal scenes in impressionistic and abstract ways. Drawing was considered a desirable skill , so I plan on having  it incorporated into the class on a regular basis.

Mixed Media

Worth a visit
A great Australian   John Lovett  is a mixed media artist giving  good basic lessons that are easy to follow on his site. Info regarding watercolour  techniques for those like a fresh spontaineous feel with minimal tools. I would love to see him work.
My previous post is my view of what watercolour is all about, fresh and quick emotional response to what you see

Last call for Painting Classes, dont miss a minute

Holiday Sketch at Alexandra Bay, Noosa Heads Australia
using felt pen and watercolour wash A5 size
Holidays are almost over, personally I looking forward to another year of having fun with my classes and sharing my painting ideas with my students. This holiday has been a continuing exploration of oils. Over the summer I enjoy the slow leisurely pace which this medium gives me in our warm climate. Ive discovered Archival Fast Drying White oil paint which speeds up the drying time .White is generally used in highlights and tends to be used more thickly so this feature is really great.Ive used it on the last painting on my blog

Classes start Monday February 1 , so please email or phone to confirm your place
