Todays Palette Knife painting class, Noosa painting Classes
Acrylic Palette Knife painting
Using the palette knife is great way to free up your painting style especially those who have an instinctively orderly mind. The other advantage I particularly love is that cleaning up is so easy, no brushes to clean, how good is that. This painting is 8x8", most of the class used a larger format and we need to add a few finshing touches. I will upload the completed paintings after next class next week, so please check back to see

Abstract Painting Techniques using Masking Fluid Published article
Published article in Decorative Painting Magazine
I wrote this earlier and forgot to post it, the magazine is still available
I have had many painting projects published, but Im so excited as this is the first one on abstracts using masking fluid. There will be another available in July
There are two simple projects as shown above . Traditionally Masking fluid is used on watercolour paintings but Ive discovered it can also be used on canvas as long as the paint used to cover it is not too thick.

Drawing and Painting Classes Noosa
Di and Lorey engrossed in their painting class
Drawing as part of our day classes has continued on from last term and has been very popular,
Last term we looked at contour and gesture drawing, this term we got down to the basic elements of drawing,
Straight and curved lines and the relationships between them, horizontal, verticals , diagonals, curves, circles and spheres. This laid the groundwork for drawing an object realisticly using the pencil to judge size and proportion
Set up for still life
In our last lesson tone was introduced using hatching and cross hatching to add tone to a group of objects
